Terms of Service
Version 2026-09-20.1 · effective September 20, 2026
These Terms are a contract between you and Magic Ingredient LLC, an Indiana limited liability company ("we", "us", "our"), covering your use of Lunar Canoe — the website at lunarcanoe.com, the application at app.lunarcanoe.com, and everything we operate as part of them (the "Service").
Section 15 requires most disputes to go to individual arbitration and waives your right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action. You may reject that section within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, by the method in section 15.7, without any other consequence for your account.
Two other documents are part of this agreement and you should read them:
- the Acceptable Use Policy — what you may and may not make with the Service;
- the Privacy Policy — what happens to your data, including the images you upload.

1. Who we are and how to reach us
Lunar Canoe is operated by Magic Ingredient LLC, an Indiana limited liability company.
- Postal: Magic Ingredient LLC, 8245 E 96th St #1158, Indianapolis, IN 46256, United States
- Support: support@enginyyr.com
- Legal notices, arbitration notices and opt-outs: support@enginyyr.com
- Abuse, likeness complaints, non-consensual intimate imagery and copyright: support@enginyyr.com
2. What the Service is — and what it is not
Lunar Canoe is a tool for composing a longer video out of short clips generated by third-party AI models. You author an ordered storyboard of scenes; for each scene you write an intent, optionally attach reference images and boundary stills, and ask us to render it; we relay that request to a model provider, retrieve the result, and let you assemble the results into one file.
Three things follow from that shape, and you should be clear about them before you spend anything:
- We do not generate video. We relay your request to a third-party model. The models are operated by other companies, on their infrastructure, under their terms (section 8).
- Model output is not deterministic and we cannot promise any particular result. The same prompt and the same inputs can produce different video on different attempts. Nothing on our site, in our documentation, or in the measurements we publish is a promise that your render will resemble them.
- A render costs real money whether or not you like the result. We charge for the attempt, not for a satisfactory outcome. Where a provider tells us it has not charged us for an attempt — for example because its own safety filter removed the output — we do not charge you for that attempt either.
The Service also includes a "director" — a conversational assistant that can propose changes to your storyboard. The director cannot spend money. It has no render tool; every proposal it makes is shown to you as a diff and applied only when you accept it.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to have an account. By using the Service you represent that you are.
You must be able to form a binding contract, and you must not be barred from using the Service under the laws of the United States or of the place you use it from. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind it, and "you" means that organisation.
4. Your account
You are responsible for the security of your account and its credentials, and for everything done under it. Tell us at support@enginyyr.com promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Accounts are for people. Do not create an account by automated means, do not share one credential across a group when we offer a way not to, and do not sell or transfer your account without our written agreement.
You are responsible for all content in your account and all activity under it, including anything uploaded or generated by anyone you give access to.
5. Acceptable use
Your use of the Service is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these Terms. It is written in plain English because it is the document you actually need to understand. Read it. The rules on uploading images of real people, on sexual content, and on content involving minors are absolute.
6. Your content
You keep your content. "Your Content" means everything you put into the Service — prompts, scene intents, style notes, uploaded images, director messages, project structure — and everything the Service produces from it for you ("Output", section 7).
You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit, reformat, transcode, extract frames from, and display Your Content, solely to operate the Service for you, to keep it secure, and to comply with the law. That licence includes sending Your Content to the model providers and sub-processors listed in the Privacy Policy, because that is how a render happens. It ends when the content is deleted, except for copies we are required to preserve (section 11) and copies our providers hold under their own retention windows.
We do not use Your Content to train models, and we do not sell it.
You represent that you have the rights necessary to upload what you upload and to grant that licence — including, for any image that shows a real person, the rights described in section 1 of the Acceptable Use Policy.
We do not pre-screen content and we do not scan it — there is no classifier, no age estimation and no hash matching in the Service today. We may review, refuse or remove content, and we act on reports (section 4 of the Acceptable Use Policy). Removing content is a right, not an obligation.
7. Output
As between you and us, Output is yours. We claim no ownership of it.
That is a statement about us. It is not a warranty that Output is free of third-party rights, and it is not a promise that you can use it for any particular purpose. In particular:
- Output is not unique. These models can produce similar or identical material for other people from similar inputs. We cannot and do not grant you exclusivity in it.
- Output may not be copyrightable. Whether and to what extent machine-generated material attracts copyright is unsettled and varies by country. We make no representation about it.
- Output may implicate someone else's rights — a person's likeness or voice, a trademark, a copyrighted work. Whether your particular Output does is your responsibility to assess, and the Acceptable Use Policy sets the rules we enforce.
- Your rights in Output are also subject to the model provider's terms (section 8), including any restriction that provider places on commercial use.
- Provenance markers. Model providers apply their own provenance signals to Output, including invisible watermarking and, for some models, C2PA Content Credentials. Our export step re-encodes clips into a single file with conventional video tooling, which does not preserve C2PA Content Credentials; an exported film should be expected to fail C2PA validation even though the individual clips were signed when we received them. Do not represent an exported file as carrying valid content credentials. You must not remove, obscure or misrepresent provenance markers or the AI-generated nature of Output; see the Acceptable Use Policy.
8. Third-party model providers
Rendering happens on Google Cloud's Vertex AI. Your prompt, your reference images and your boundary stills are transmitted to Google to produce a clip or a still, and the result is returned to us and stored in our object storage.
Two consequences you should know about, both of which are also described in the Privacy Policy:
- Google logs prompts and responses for abuse monitoring for up to 90 days, and that logging is not covered by customer-managed encryption keys. This applies to pay-as-you-go use. If a prompt or a reference image is something you would not want a third party to retain for that period, do not send it.
- Provider safety filters run on every request, and a request may be refused or its output withheld. That is the provider's decision, not ours, and we cannot override it. Attempting to work around a provider's filters is a violation of the Acceptable Use Policy and may also breach the provider's own terms.
The models we use are supplied by their operators without any indemnity to you from us, and we do not pass through any indemnity we may or may not have from a provider. Some of the models we run are pre-general-availability, and provider indemnities generally do not extend to those.
We may change model providers or model versions, add them, or stop offering them, including because a provider withdraws or deprecates a model. We will try to give notice where a change removes a capability you were relying on.
9. Fees, credits and refunds
Prepaid credits. Credits are a prepaid balance for rendering, denominated in the currency shown at purchase. They are a licence to use the Service, not currency, not a stored-value instrument, and not a deposit.
- Credits are non-transferable between accounts and cannot be sold or assigned.
- Credits are consumed when an attempt is submitted to a provider, at the price shown before you submit it. Where a provider confirms it has not charged us for an attempt, we do not consume credits for it.
- Credits do not expire.
- On account closure by you: unspent credits are forfeited unless a refund is required by law or granted under our refund practice below.
- On termination by us for a violation of the Acceptable Use Policy: unspent credits are forfeited.
- On termination by us for any other reason, including our discontinuing the Service, we will refund the unspent balance.
Prices are published in the Service. We may change them; a change never applies retroactively to credits you have already bought. Model pricing is set by the providers and can change on their schedule; where a provider price rises, the credit cost of a render may rise with it, and we will show the current estimate before you spend.
Refunds. We will refund a charge caused by our error or by a failure of the Service. We do not refund a render because you did not like the result. Payment is processed by Stripe, Inc.; we do not store your card details.
Taxes. Prices exclude taxes unless stated. Where we are required to collect tax we will, and otherwise you are responsible for it.
10. Spending limits
The Service enforces per-account daily and monthly spending caps and a per-project monthly cap. A render or image generation that would exceed a cap is refused before it is submitted. You can change your caps in the Service.
Caps are a safety net, not a guarantee. Estimates shown before a render are estimates; the amount finally charged may differ where a provider reports actual usage that differs from the estimate. If we cannot determine a price for a model we refuse the render rather than treat it as free.
11. Retention, export and deletion
Sections 8 and 9 of the Privacy Policy are the detail. This section is the commitment.
Retention
Our retention schedule is published in full at lunarcanoe.com/retention and it applies per plan. Two things in it expire:
- Takes you moved on from — a render you replaced by selecting a newer one — are kept for 30 days after you select the newer take.
- Assembled exports are kept for 90 days from assembly. Re-assembling produces the same file from the settings frozen at export, so this expires a copy and not your work.
Everything the Service is still using — your uploads, the take each scene is using, and every still it references — is kept while the project is live.
We will not expire anything without telling you first. You get notice 14 days and again 3 days before, listing exactly what is affected, and every notice carries a way to keep the file indefinitely. Content you had before this schedule was published is exempt from it.
We may change the schedule, and a change that shortens a retention period takes effect only after 30 days' notice and never applies to content you already have.
Export
You can export everything at any time while your account is open: one archive with every project, every file under its original name, your director conversations and your spend history. Export before you close your account — the link stops working when the account does.
Deletion
- Deleting a project erases the files behind it. It stops accepting new work at once and is destroyed after 1 day. You can cancel throughout that window with nothing lost.
- You can close your account from inside the Service. Everything goes, and the window is 7 days. You confirm by typing your own email address.
- Every deletion produces a receipt you can read: what was deleted, how many files were erased, and what was kept and why.
- Content removed under a complaint is erased across every account that holds the identical file, retried until the storage delete and the cache purge both confirm.
- Backups are covered in section 9 of the Privacy Policy, including the parts we will not promise on Cloudflare's behalf.
What survives any deletion
Some records survive any deletion, and always will: complaints and the receipts for what a takedown removed, the moderation log, financial and tax records, the record that you asked to be forgotten, and material we are legally obliged to preserve — in particular, material relating to suspected child sexual abuse material, which US law requires us to preserve for one year in a secure location with restricted access. The complaint and moderation records are append-only in the database itself and cannot be edited or deleted by us either. Financial records hold the provider, model, cost and time of each charge, and no prompt, image or video.
One consequence of how files are stored is worth stating here rather than leaving you to discover it: files are kept under a hash of their contents, so two identical files are one stored file. Deleting yours removes your record of it and leaves the stored file in place until the last reference to it goes. The receipt tells you when this happened.
12. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time.
We may suspend or terminate an account, remove content, or refuse service:
- for a violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy;
- where we are required to by law, or where continuing would expose us or a third party to legal risk;
- where an account's usage threatens the stability or security of the Service;
- for non-payment.
For anything other than a serious violation we will normally warn first and give you a chance to fix it. For content involving minors, non-consensual intimate imagery, or an imminent risk of harm, we act immediately and without notice, and we report to the authorities where the law requires it.
Sanctions run on a ladder — warned, restricted, suspended, banned — set out in section 10 of the Acceptable Use Policy, with each move recorded. Restricted stops uploading and spending but leaves you able to read, edit, export and delete. Suspended leaves read and export. Banned ends access. A sanction can carry an expiry and lapses on its own when it does.
Termination ends your access and is followed by deletion on the terms in section 11 — which today means an operator carrying it out, not an automated flow. Export your work first. Sections 6 (the licence, for content already transmitted), 7, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 18 survive termination.
13. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free; that any render will succeed, or succeed at any particular quality; that Output will be accurate, original, non-infringing, or fit for any purpose; or that defects will be corrected. We do not offer a service-level agreement.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. In those places, the exclusions above apply only to the extent permitted.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, lost goodwill, or the cost of substitute services, however caused and on any theory of liability, even if we have been advised of the possibility.
- Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is capped at the greater of the amounts you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or US$100.
These limits apply to the fullest extent permitted by law and do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including, in many places, death or personal injury caused by negligence, and fraud.
15. Disputes, arbitration and class-action waiver
Read this section. It changes how any dispute between us is resolved and what remedies are available to you. You can opt out (section 15.7).
15.1 Informal resolution first. Before starting an arbitration or a lawsuit, you agree to email support@enginyyr.com with a short description of the dispute and the relief you want, and to give us 60 days to try to resolve it. We agree to do the same before bringing a claim against you. This step is a condition of starting an arbitration, and either of us can ask a court or the arbitrator to enforce it. The limitation period is tolled while it runs.
15.2 Agreement to arbitrate. If we cannot resolve it informally, you and we agree that any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service — including its formation, breach, termination, enforceability, and the scope of this section — will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules in effect when the arbitration is filed, rather than in court. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section.
15.3 What is carved out. This section does not cover:
- claims that can be brought individually in small-claims court, which either of us may bring there instead: in the small-claims court of the county where you live, or of Marion County, Indiana, for claims within that court's jurisdictional limits;
- claims for injunctive relief to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property;
- anything a statute says cannot be sent to arbitration.
15.4 Class-action waiver. You and we may each bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims, may not preside over any form of representative or class proceeding, and may award relief only in favour of the individual party seeking it and only to the extent necessary to provide relief on that party's individual claim.
15.5 Non-severability of the class-action waiver. If section 15.4 is found unenforceable as to a particular claim or request for relief, that claim or request must be brought in court and severed from the arbitration, and the rest of section 15 continues to apply to everything else. If section 15.4 is found unenforceable in its entirety, then section 15.2 is void in its entirety.
15.6 Jury-trial waiver. For anything not in arbitration, you and we each waive any right to a jury trial.
15.7 How to opt out. You may reject sections 15.2 to 15.6 by emailing support@enginyyr.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, from the address on your account, with the subject line "Arbitration opt-out" and your account email in the body. That is the only thing you need to do; we will confirm in writing. Opting out has no effect on your account, your credits or your access to the Service, and we will not treat it as a reason to terminate. If you opt out, disputes go to the courts identified in section 18.1.
15.8 Fees. If you start an arbitration, you pay the filing fee up to the amount it would have cost you to file the same claim in the courts identified in section 18.1, and we pay the rest of the administrator's and the arbitrator's fees. If the arbitrator finds the claim frivolous or brought for an improper purpose, the administrator's rules govern fees instead. Each of us bears our own attorneys' fees unless a law that applies to the claim says otherwise.
15.9 Seat and hearings. The seat of the arbitration is Indianapolis, Indiana. Arbitration may proceed on documents alone or by telephone or video where the rules allow, and you may elect a hearing near where you live.
15.10 Changes. If we materially change this section, the change applies only to disputes arising after it takes effect, and you get a fresh 30 days opt-out window.
16. Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Magic Ingredient LLC and its officers and employees from any third-party claim, and any resulting loss, arising out of: Your Content; your Output and how you use it; your breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy; or your violation of anyone's rights, including rights of publicity, privacy and intellectual property. We will tell you promptly about any such claim and let you control the defence, provided any settlement that imposes an obligation on us needs our written agreement.
17. Changes to these Terms
We will post any change here, bump the version, and record it in CHANGELOG.md. For a material change we will email the address on your account at least 30 days before it takes effect and ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in. Continuing to use the Service after a material change takes effect means you accept it. If you do not accept, you may close your account and we will refund any unspent credits.
Which version you agreed to, and when, is recorded against your account. How
acceptance is captured is specified in assent-and-consent.md in our policy
repository.
18. General
18.1 Governing law and venue. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. For anything not subject to section 15 — including if you opt out of arbitration — you and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Marion County, Indiana. Nothing here deprives a consumer of the protection of mandatory law in their country of residence.
18.2 Notices. We send notices to the email address on your account; keep it current. You send legal notices to support@enginyyr.com and to Magic Ingredient LLC, 8245 E 96th St #1158, Indianapolis, IN 46256, United States.
18.3 Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
18.4 Severability. Except as section 15.5 provides, if a provision is unenforceable it is modified to the minimum extent necessary, or severed, and the rest stays in force.
18.5 No waiver. Not enforcing a provision once does not waive it.
18.6 Force majeure. Neither of us is liable for a failure caused by something outside our reasonable control, other than a failure to pay.
18.7 Export and sanctions. You may not use the Service in violation of US export-control or sanctions law, and you represent you are not located in, or ordinarily resident in, a sanctioned jurisdiction, and are not on a prohibited party list.
18.8 Entire agreement. These Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Notice are the whole agreement between us about the Service and supersede anything earlier.
